Tutorial: My First Profile!
Introduction
The FroggeBot
Profiles module is its premier feature. It allows users to create
and manage their own character profiles, which can be customized with a variety of
options.
Here we'll walk through the process of creating your first profile. Let's get started!
Preparation
First off, ensure that you have FroggeBot
installed in your server.
Currently, profiles are only available to venue staff members that have been hired into
FroggeBot
using the /admin hire
command. If you're not a staff member, you can still
follow along with this tutorial, but you won't be able to create a profile until you've
been hired.
Hiring Staff
To learn more about the hiring process, check out the hiring tutorial and the staffing module.
The Goal
Here's an example of what your profile will look like when we're finished:
Profile Progress
One of the buttons on the upcoming main profile menu is the
button. This button will show you the completion status of your profile in a handy checklist format.Make sure to use it often to see how close you are to completing your profile!
Creating Your Profile
Profile Command
To create your profile, use the /staff profile Click to copy command. This command will prompt you to select the character you wish to create a profile for or create a new character.
Error Message
If you receive an error message when trying to create a profile, it is likely that you are not a staff member in the venue. Please refer to the hiring tutorial to learn how to become a staff member.
Completion Status
Note that the emoji indicating the profile's completion status is dependent on the venue's profile requirement configuration. In this example, our venue doesn't require any elements of a profile to be filled out, so the profile is considered complete.
Posting Status
The posting status indicates whether the profile has been posted to one of the venue's profile channels.
For the sake of this tutorial, we'll assume you have no experience with making a profile in FroggeBot
and
use the default character that was created for you upon hiring.
Click on the
button to proceed.Select the default character from the drop-down box to access the profile menu.
You'll be presented with the profile main menu and a variety of buttons that allow you to customize various elements of your profile.
Setting an Element
Everything is Optional
All elements of the profile are optional, so feel free to skip any sections that you don't want to fill out.
Do note, however, that each venue may have different requirements for what elements of the profile need to be filled out, and while all elements are optional by default, the final profile configuration is up to venue management.
To set an element of your profile, click on the button corresponding to the section containing that element. For example, if you notice our character's name isn't set by default, so let's fix that.
Click on the
button to move on to the Main Info menu. Here you can set your character's name, custom URL, freelance rates, and more.
For us, we'll just set the name to start.
Click the
button.Button Colors
As you progress through the profile creation process, you'll notice that the attribute buttons in each section change color as you set them. The colors indicate the completion status of the profile element.
